3 january, 2024

Today, at an extended meeting of the dean’s office of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, employees discussed the interview of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with the Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper. All the problems raised in the interview are relevant at the moment and require a careful approach and deep understanding. We hope that the reforms that have begun and the expected events in our country will find support from all citizens of the republic.
For our part, in order to achieve the goal - training highly qualified personnel in the field of energy, applied physics and technical regulation - we, teachers of the Department of Thermal Physics and Technical Physics, will make every effort within our power in training students and improving the qualifications of teaching staff. In the light of solving global problems of climate change, the department’s staff conducts scientific research on reducing harmful emissions from thermal power plants into the atmosphere and on anti-icing of wind generator blades.
Our scientists have proposed a plasma technology for producing hydrogen gas and carbon black from hydrocarbons in a reaction chamber by using plasma with significantly lower emissions of CO and other pollutants (US patent “Systems and methods for producing hydrogen and carbon”). All developments of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics will contribute to the modernization of the country’s engineering infrastructure.
