Award ceremony for the winners of the competition

January 26, 2024 at the Department of the Far East, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was awarded the competition for knowledge of the Korean language. Prior to this, the competition was held with the support of the Education Center of the Republic of Korea in Almaty under the supervision of professor Lee Byong Jo. First-year students took part in the competition; the competition was held with great enthusiasm and interest. The Korean language questions were tested in TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) format. Since the participants only studied in the Department for 1 semester and took the test, the Korean language questions may be a little difficult for first-year participants. However, the participants showed a high level of Korean language. It can be said that this was a meaningful competition because first-year participants can find out their Korean language level in advance in the middle of the school year. Anel Okanova (1st place) and 5 winners took prizes in the competition. The winners of the competition who took prizes in the competition were awarded certificates and cash prizes. We hope that the winners will continue to study Korean more diligently, reach a higher level, and become excellent Korean studies specialists in Kazakhstan.
