Eliminating inequalities and ensuring that no one goes unnoticed is an integral part of the process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Inequality within and between countries is a constant concern. Despite the fact that we live in a developed, innovative society, a decrease in relative income inequality in some countries, socio-economic inequality, and inequality between men and women are still occurring.
One of the best educational institutions in the country - Al-Farabi Kazakh National University annually trains and educates young people with a wide range of knowledge, skills and abilities. The main goal of the university is to pay attention to the spiritual and moral development of student youth within the framework of the rules of honor and academic policy of each student. For this purpose, various events, conferences, and competitions are held. One of the regular events, among the listeners of the 19th group, was a round table on the topic “Elimination of social inequality". The main purpose of the event is the development of social services; involvement of young people in education; assistance to the poor and disabled; protection of regulations, laws, monetary compensation, vulnerable segments of society (veterans, disabled people, single mothers); popularization of equal opportunities for both men and women in all conditions.
Within the framework of the round table, the listeners expressed their ideas for preventing social inequality occurring in the world, preserving equality, and increasing the knowledge of ordinary people in the field of law and the law.
Today, UN Women is working to reduce inequality within countries by ensuring universal participation and equality in all areas based on legislation and programs. In our work to eliminate inequality and discrimination, we must rely on a human rights-based approach. We must maximize the opportunities of women's organizations and influence groups to address the problems of the least disadvantaged and socially distanced women's groups, including migrant women, refugees, women with disabilities and others.
