Foreign language classes within the framework of the SDGs for the students from Turkmenistan

On January 26 and 27, February 2 and 3, 2024,  the senior teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages, Master  of Arts Gulzhazira Ashirovna Koitasova conducted regular classes of a foreign language course within the framework of SDG1: Eradication of Poverty. The course is intended primarily for low-income students and the students from Turkmenistan whose foreign language levels are Elementary, Beginner. Classes were held offline and online. During the lesson, students from Tukmenistan worked on the topics: “At the library - giving personal information”, “Describing people”, “Introducing a friend”. They   listened, read and discussed dialogues in English according to their level and completed tasks on the topics. They also focused on the phonetic aspects of the language and reinforced grammar by doing various exercises. Learning  English through story technology was held for the  students at the Pre-intermediate level. To develop communication skills, the  students listened, read and discussed short, adapted audio stories:   “Million Pound Bank Note" by Mark Twain and  “Lost Love" Ian Carew .  The lessons ended with the analysis of the contexts of the new vocabulary, answers to questions and the plot  discussion.
