The exhibition of the museum-reserve "Yesik" opened in KazNU
The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the opening of the exhibition "In the bowels of centuries", organized by the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Yesik" of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by the leadership of Al-Farabi KazNU, delegation headed by the director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Gulmira Mukhtarova, the history department of the university, faculty, historians and young people.
The purpose of the exhibition timed to the 90th anniversary of KazNU is to familiarize with the archeological, ethnographic, spiritual and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people and valuable archeological exhibits related to the history of the "Golden Man".
Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities Zhamila Aitzhanova made a speech at the event. Having congratulated those present with the opening of the exhibition, she emphasized the long-standing ties between KazNU and the museum-reserve "Yesik".
"The archaeologists who discovered the "Golden Man" in 1970 are university graduates - Kemel Akishev and Beken Nurmagambetov and 3rd year student Alisher Akishev. After this event, the university opened a department of archeology and ethnography and established training for archeologists throughout Kazakhstan. This brought the country's archaeology to a new level.
The Issyk-Kyrgyz region is being comprehensively studied by both Kazakhstani scientists and foreign scientists. Over the past 50 years hundreds of artifacts have been discovered and brought into scientific circulation. Today employees of the museum-reserve "Yesik" specially brought some valuable exhibits to the exhibition in the museum of KazNU. I express my great gratitude to the management and staff of the museum-reserve", - said the Vice-Rector of the University.
Director of the state historical and cultural museum-reserve "Yesik" Gulmira Mukhtarova is a graduate of KazNU. She congratulated the staff of her alma mater on the 90th anniversary, wished success in science and education and presented a letter of thanks and gifts.
The exposition of the exhibition presents a silver bowl of the "Golden Man" and original ceramics, cauldron, typical for the Saksko-Usun culture of the early Iron Age, ancient jewelry, weapons and other valuable artifacts found on the territory of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition of the state historical and cultural museum-reserve "Yesik" in the museum of KazNU will be held from February 5 to March 7, 2024.
