Language policy of the CIS countries

The Minsk State Linguistic University hosted the III International Congress "Language Policy of the CIS Countries". The event brought together leading specialists in education and linguistics, scientists, writers, authors of textbooks and teaching aids, as well as representatives of scientific, educational and public organizations involved in supporting and promoting the Russian language and education in Russian from the CIS countries.

The delegation from Kazakhstan, represented by Doctor of Philology, Professor, Executive Director of the Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Shaimerdenova Nursulu Zhamalbekovna; Doctor of Philology, Director of the Resource Center for Multilingual Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Musabekova Ulzhan Esenovna; Candidate of Philology, Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata Buribaeva Mainura Abiltaevna; Master of Philology, doctoral student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Kairzhanova Adiya Tasbolatovna; Master of Philology, Doctoral student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Kairzhanova Adia Tasbolatovna. Korkyt Ata Buribaeva Mainura Abiltaevna; Master of Philology, doctoral student of Al-Farabi KazNU Adiya Tasbolatovna Kairzhanova, actively participated in the discussion of important issues concerning the future of language policy in the CIS countries.

The key goal of the congress was to analyze and discuss effective practices, as well as to develop optimal approaches to harmonize the language situation in a multilingual, multicultural and multiconfessional society. Scholars and experts from different countries expressed confidence that sharing experience at such events promotes cooperation and helps to solve modern language challenges.
