Rector of KazNU congratulated the scientist

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with Professor, Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Laila Akhmetova.

The parties discussed issues of education and science, development of military journalism.

During the meeting, Laila Seysembekovna told the rector of the university Zhanseit Tuimebayev about the work being done at the institution of higher education to train qualified journalists.In turn, the rector thanked the honorary professor for hard work at the university and invaluable contribution to the development of military journalism. He also congratulated Laila Akhmetova on her 70th birthday.

"You are a qualified scholar, a professional of your profession, who has educated several generations of students in the field of national journalism. For more than fifty years you have been a fruitful teacher at your alma mater. You have conducted fundamental research in the field of military journalism, written scientific and journalistic articles, and published substantial monographs. Having collected new data on the history of the Second World War, you have made a significant contribution to the restoration of the names of Kazakhstani citizens missing in action at the front.

Thanks to your painstaking work you were awarded prestigious awards, recognized by the world community. Today you are an honored worker of culture of Kazakhstan, honorary worker of science, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Science, academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio. Your productive labor and achieved successes serve as an example for the youth. The University is proud of its experienced scientists", - said the rector.

At the end of the speech Zhanseit Tuimebayev awarded the outstanding scientist Laila Seysembekovna with a silver medal "Al-Farabi".
