“Current state of gender policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan”
On February 15, 2024, the senior teachers of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature Bazarbaeva A.S. and Abdullaeva Zh.T. together with the 1st year students of groups 203 TFP and 107 CI majoring in “Chemistry”, held an educational event on the topic “Current state of gender policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan” within the framework of “Gender equality” SDG 5. The students prepared presentations on the topic of the event, the issues for discussion. They also prepared in advance mind maps on the given topic.
During the event, the issues were discussed about the state of gender policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, statistical data on the gender ratio in the government, and the role of women in obviously “male” professions, such as civil aviation, army, police, and firefighters. Throughout the event, the participants actively exchanged opinions, offered their own solutions to this problem, and looked for solutions to similar issues in foreign practice. The groups expressed their opinions on the presentations given at the event, discussed the issues on the topic such as participation options for introducing gender equality in Kazakhstan. The events ended with the compilation of mental maps on the topic “The role of women in the development of the country’s economy.”
The discussion of this topic aroused a great interest among students due to its relevance; unresolved problems of gender policy were reflected in the student’s mental maps.
