1st student film festival of short films “Dura lex, sed lex”

On December 6, 2022, within the framework of the events of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in order to improve the quality of training specialists in the field of criminal procedure law, the I student Film festival of short films "Dura lex, sed lex" was held. The solemn ceremony of awarding the Golden Owl Film Award took place in the 4th hall of the Faculty of Law. 12 short films were submitted to the competition. The videos were evaluated in terms of visibility of the suspect's detention, investigative action, compliance with the requirements of criminal procedure legislation, the quality of video filming and editing, as well as a creative approach to completing the task. 
The jury evaluated the submitted works and summed up the results of the competition. According to the results of the competition, the winners were determined in the following nominations:
"The best implementation of pre-trial proceedings" - 301 group;
"Best Director" – Nuradinbekov Beybars, student of group 302;
"Best Actress" – Madi Aida, student of group 305;
"Best Male role" – Baymurat Beybarssultan, student of group 304;
"The best scenario" – 308 PD group;
"The best cinematography" – 212 group;
"Best editing" – 303 group;
"The best production designer" - 304 group.
The audience award was awarded based on the results of voting on Instagram, regardless of the jury's ratings. In this nomination, the 305th group won, which collected 7000 views within an hour.
I place: "Golden Owl – 2022" went to 302 group.
II place: Grand Prix – 304 group.
III place: Jury prize – 305 group.
In February of this year (the exact date will be announced), the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminology plans to hold a student film festival of short films "DURA LEX, SED LEX".
The program of the film festival:
1. Watching films nominated for the film festival;
2. Concert performances;
3. Photo Zone-2024;
4. The award ceremony for the winners.
