Connection between theory and practice

On February 16, 2024, 3rd year students majoring in Logistics were on an excursion to the Lukoil company. First, they walked around the external territory of the plant and learned about the company as a whole. LUKOIL is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. The company produces a range of petroleum products, gas processing and petrochemical products and sells products wholesale and retail in more than 30 countries around the world.

LUKOIL produces several oils: the first 2 types are base oils, 3 and 4 are synthetic. Afterwards they visited the plant’s laboratory. It has 120 devices, and through them the quality and compliance of standards are checked, and new types of oils are produced.

After they were advised by a laboratory worker,then they went to the information systems department. All production processes in the company are equipped with the latest technologies, such as WMS and many other sophisticated ones. Automatic control was presented everywhere, everything is regulated in one place, and the company’s warehouse is class A/A+. By the way, Lukoil can provide oil to the whole of Kazakhstan, because it produces 100,000 tons/year.

The students really enjoyed it, experienced intense emotions and at the same time received a lot of information.
