"Recycling of Raw Materials – the Driving Force of the Economy"
At the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an educational event titled "Recycling of Raw Materials – the Driving Force of the Economy" took place!
The goals of sustainable development are globally accepted objectives aimed at eradicating poverty and destitution, combating inequality and injustice, as well as protecting the planet and ensuring peace and prosperity for all inhabitants.
In accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production," second-year students of the Biology program (5B060700) at the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with their advisor, Ms. Zaparina E.G., participated in the event "Recycling of Raw Materials – the Driving Force of the Economy" on February 19, 2024, with the aim of donating clothing to special collection points of the social and charitable eco-project "Warmth."
Donating raw materials for recycling helps to save the world from environmental problems, namely: reducing natural resource consumption and minimizing environmental impact contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and ecosystems; there is also a reduction in waste, a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, the creation of jobs, and the formation of environmental awareness among the population.
This event allowed students not only to actively participate in the creation of an environmentally sustainable society but also to draw attention to the importance of transitioning to rational consumption and production models.
