As part of the implementation of SDG 4 "Quality Education", proclaimed by the United Nations to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University holds the Farabi Winter Scientific School on the topic "Human Rights in modern the world."
On February 27, 2024, a doctoral student of the department, Akhmetova Saule, held a lesson on the topic "The right to personal data protection: the basics of legal protection".
Moderator, Doctor of Law, Professor Ibraуeva Alua Salamatovna, opening the session, noted that modern technological development and the widespread use of Internet technologies in society acutely poses the problem of protecting human personal information to states. Professor Ibraуeva A.S. stressed that the protection of personal data is a fundamental human right enshrined in Article 18 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the lesson, doctoral student Akhmetova Saule acquainted the students of the winter scientific school with the concept of the right to personal data protection, key terms of legislation on personal data protection, international, European and Kazakhstani approaches to the principles of privacy, the rights of personal data subjects. The doctoral student also considered the issues of liability for violations of personal data protection requirements. The audience got acquainted with this topic with great interest. There was a discussion on this topic.
The Winter Scientific School is organized for students of law specialties from foreign universities.
