KazNU took II place in the EcoThone competition

Atina Basarova, 1st year student of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of Al-Farabi KazNU, under the guidance of supervisor-adviser, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Karlygash Useinova took the 2nd place in the EcoThone competition.

The competition was held in Almaty within the framework of the program "Involvement of Children and Youth in Promoting Climate Change, Sustainable Energy Use and Pollution Control", implemented jointly with PF "Social-Ecological Fund", NGO "ECOCENTER" and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

The aim of this initiative is to engage children and youth of Kazakhstan to take action and promote the issues of climate change, sustainable energy use and pollution control, as well as to raise awareness of the general public about the environment, health and well-being of children.
Atina Basarova's team made a presentation of the EcoDos application. The EcoDos app is a platform where people can earn points through turning in recyclable materials and achievements in environmental activities. It is also an online community where users can share experiences, ideas and create environmental movements.

By the decision of the judges the team of Basarova Atina took the 2nd place and they were allocated funding in the amount of 200 thousand tenge for the implementation of the project.
