KazNU discussed new projects with South Korean colleagues

Al-Farabi KazNU was visited by the delegation of the Agency for International Cooperation of Cholla-Pukto Province of South Korea.

During the visit there was a meeting of the director of the organization Kim Dae Sik with a member of the Board - Vice-rector for operational activities Erkin Duisenov.
Vice-rector told the guests about the joint work of KazNU in the field of science and education with universities, institutes and organizations of South Korea.
He briefly acquainted the honored guests with the experience of scientific and educational interaction with universities, institutes and organizations of South Korea.

Today KazNU cooperates with 57 higher education institutions of the Republic of Korea. Within the framework of signed agreements active academic, research work is carried out. For 2023/24 academic year 15 faculty members, 4 doctoral students, 7 master's students, 2 undergraduate students were sent to universities of South Korea for scientific internships and research work, 21 students were trained in universities of South Korea. Currently, 23 students from South Korea are studying in KazNU, of them within the framework of the scholarship program - 3, on a contractual basis - 20.
"Currently, at the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies read lectures and engaged in research activities Professor Lee Beng Jo, - emphasized the Vice-Rector. - We are always glad to welcome you at the University, we are interested in increasing mutually beneficial cooperation with universities of South Korea".

Director of the Agency for International Cooperation of Cholla-Pukto Province of the Republic of Korea, thanking for the warm welcome, emphasized that he was glad to visit KazNU again. Five years ago he gave a leadership lecture at the university, for some time he was the Ambassador of South Korea in Astana. "After retirement, I was offered this position given my experience in developing international cooperation. I am here again to put forward several proposals for cooperation with your university," said Mr. Kim Dae-sik. - In particular, about the establishment of the Association of Rectors of Kazakhstan and South Korea to exchange experience and improve the work of universities of the two countries".

The meeting concluded with a discussion on Mr. Kim Dae-sik's forward-looking proposal, as well as on enhancing academic exchange, joint research, publications and training of highly qualified personnel.
