At the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, a dastarkhan was set up for those fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
Representatives of intellectuals, elders and veterans of the university, staff, faculty and scientists of the university gathered at the iftar.
Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev congratulated all those gathered on the holy month of Ramadan and wished peace and blessings.
"In his speech, the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev noted: "The month of Ramadan is a time when the unity and solidarity of Muslims are clearly manifested. I am confident that by preserving harmony and mutual understanding, our people will steadily follow the path of progress".
During the days of the holy fast of oraz, such enduring values as kindness and honesty, mercy and compassion come to the forefront of society. These values strengthen the unity of our people and broaden spiritual horizons. The month of Ramadan calls for brotherhood, humility and forgiveness. Oraza qabyl bolsyn!" - said the rector.
In his speech, the rector spoke about the large-scale events to be held within the 90th anniversary of KazNU, as well as shared plans for the future.
It should be noted that in canteens and coffee shops of KazNU campus there are special discounts for fasting students, and water and dates are given free of charge.
