"Clean Water: A Key Resource for Life" (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation)
On March 18, 2024, the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology hosted a scientific seminar titled "Clean Water: A Key Resource for Life" as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation).
The event aimed to familiarize attendees with current data and research on the state of water resources and the problems associated with their pollution.
The seminar featured a presentation by A.V. Lovinskaya, PhD, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. The presentation included a scientific analytical review of water resource pollution, highlighting current research (including her own) on monitoring and assessing the pollution of natural surface waters in Kazakhstan and globally. Examples of improvements in water resources and reducing the percentage of untreated wastewater were also discussed.
The event occurred at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Room 526, at 2:00 PM. The organizers were A.V. Lovinskaya and students of the "6V05105 - Genetics" educational program.
