Our student from Bangladesh

I am always happy to have international students in my English class, especially those who have a good command of English. I have found that our local students usually start to speak English much better when they communicate with them.

This term, my Chemistry 101 students were delighted to welcome Sakib MD Shahariar, a student from Bangladesh. Having students from abroad is always a great way to learn about other people's experiences, and these students benefit enormously from the chance to experience our culture. He shares with us his story about his country, his impression of Kazakhstan and his expectations:

This is how he describes his country: I am a proud resident of the beautiful land of Bangladesh. Life here is vibrant, filled with rich culture, warm-hearted people, and a spirit that resonates with resilience. First and foremost, I cherish the close-knit bonds of family and friends that define my life. In Bangladesh, relationships hold immense importance, and I am fortunate to be surrounded by a loving and supportive network. Our gatherings are lively, often featuring delicious traditional meals that reflect the diverse culinary heritage of our country. Bangladesh has a robust educational system, and I’ve had the privilege of pursuing my studies with dedication. The resilience, warmth, and cultural richness of Bangladesh are woven into the fabric of my identity, making me proud to call this country my home.

His first impression of Kazakhstan and people: Peoples of Kazakhstan are very friendly and helpful. On his arrival in Almaty, he was truly in awe of the beauty of the mountain scenery. He hopes that during his studies he will have a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Kazakhstan, its traditions, and customs.

About his expectations: He believes that Al-Farabi Univesity professor staff will provide him with profound knowledge in his specialty - pharmaceutical manufacturing technology. Acquiring expertise in this field equips individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the production of high-quality and safe pharmaceuticals. As professionals in pharmaceutical manufacturing, one can play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare by maintaining stringent quality standards and adhering to regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the expectation is to positively impact the lives of countless individuals by ensuring access to effective and reliable medications.

In the end of my story I wish Sakib to excel in his studies, gain high quality education at our university and make a competent specialist in his field!
