Scientist of Kyoto University delivered a lecture in KazNU

An event in the life of the Faculty of Oriental Studies was a lecture for teachers by Grigory Misochko, Associate Professor at Kyoto University of Foreign Languages, entitled "Using Extensive Reading in Teaching Foreign Languages: Experience of Kyoto University of Foreign Languages".
Grigory Misochko teaches at Kyoto University of Foreign Languages and is a member of various international associations of Japanese language teachers.
In a fascinating way Grigory told in detail about a relatively new method of teaching - extensive reading, used at Kyoto University in the course of teaching English, French and Japanese. The lecturer also discussed such aspects as the specifics of the teaching method, its main advantages, as well as the difficulties encountered when using extensive reading in teaching foreign languages. After the lecture the lecturers of the department actively participated in the discussion and asked questions on the topic.
At the event also made reports: teacher of the Kazakhstan-Japan Center for Human Resource Development in Almaty Alisher Skatov ("Development of students' reading skills in Japanese") and senior lecturer of the Department of Far East Asiya Nurelova ("Innovative technologies in teaching techniques and strategies of reading in a foreign language").
