XII Republican competition «The best linguist»

ANNOUCEMENT

On April 17, 2024 Turkology and Language Theory  Department of  the  Faculty  of Philology of  Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will organize the XII Republican competition «The best linguist» among students  of universities  in an offline format.

          The main goals of the competition are to:

• increase the scientific activity of young scientists, undergraduates;
• arouse public interest in science;
• contribute to the expansion of the use of the Kazakh language in the scientific space.

         Working languages of the competition: Kazakh, Russian, English.

Bachelor’s Degree students  majoring  in  Linguistics, Kazakh Philology, Russian
Philology, Foreign Philology, Foreign Language two foreign language can take part in the competition:

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

«The best linguist» competition consists of 2 stages:

1) the first stage is  test (test questions on general linguistic knowledge, language theory, genealogical, typological classification);

2) second stage is  homework presentation (presentation defense on «Digital Linguistics in Kazakhstan: Prospects and Development Directions»). The volume is 10-12 slides. The presentation should be prepared in accordance with the rules of presentation design.
