EVENT HELD ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Within the framework of pedagogical practice, a 1st-year doctoral student of the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, specialty "Robotic Systems" D.M. Uypalakova, A.I. Akzholova, B.A. Talpakova conducted in 04.04.2024 an educational lesson on the topic "Сlean water and sanitation".
During the educational hour, issues related to water resources were raised around the world and in the Republic:
Water is the source of life, an integral part of everyday life. The existing existence depends on it. The bitter truth is that we don't always realize the value of water every day. We cannot understand those who were immersed in a drop of water after the water flowed around the clock. The value of black water is important to all of us.
According to the United Nations, today almost half of the world's population is experiencing water shortages. According to experts, more than 780 million people on earth do not have access to clean drinking water. And 1.7 billion people need fresh water sources. Thousands of people die every year in the world due to the lack of clean water and unsanitary conditions. It's a pity that many of them are children. And according to scientists, by the 2040s and 2050s, the water shortage crisis will become truly global. Against this background, there are rumors today that the next war will not be for oil or gas, but for water. Despite the fact that it is not so difficult in some countries, there are problems with drinking water in Kazakhstan.
The issues of how to protect water resources, statistical data on the use of water resources, the conclusions of scientists, ways to solve the problems of drinking water in the world, ways to save water, and careful use were raised and discussed.
In order to clearly convey to us and to you, surveys and watching videos with various examples were conducted. The video shown and the survey conducted were discussed.
At the end of the lesson, summing up the discussion of the above issues, the head of the Department of Mechanics, Associate Professor Turalina D., teacher, senior lecturer Kirghizkhan G. A., associate professor and head of the pedagogical practice and 3rd year students of the specialty "Robotic systems" expressed their opinion.
Conducting educational work on one of the sustainable development goals is the university’s contribution to achieving this goal.
