KazNU and PFUR Implement Joint Education Program

The delegation of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University during the working trip to Russia specially visited the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia named after P. Lumumba.

At the meeting the rectors of the two universities Zhanseit Tuimebaev and Oleg Yastrebov exchanged views on further development of partnership relations.   

During the meeting Zhanseit Tuimebaev spoke about the achievements of KazNU and got acquainted with the scientific infrastructure of the university. The rector of the university also thanked Oleg Yastrebov for his participation in the II Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kazakhstan and Russia, which was held at the KazNU on March 29.

"The relations between the two universities are developing dynamically. So, in the academic year 2022-2024 144 students of KazNU will study in the top universities of Russia within the framework of the program of academic mobility. Among them is the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia named after P. Lumumba. During these years 36 students of PFUR studied at KazNU. I believe that in the future it is necessary to exchange teachers and young students, to hold international events, to implement a joint educational program, joint preparation of scientific articles and materials", - said the rector.

In turn, Oleg Yastrebov thanked Zhanseit Tuimebaev for visiting the educational institution with a working visit and expressed support for the above initiatives of the Rector of KazNU.

"Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is one of our reliable partners and we hope for further fruitful cooperation. I very much appreciate the working relations established with you and your university", - said the head of PFUR.

At the end of the meeting the parties exchanged memorable gifts and agreed on further joint realization of large-scale projects.

Recall that the memorandum of cooperation between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Peoples' Friendship University of Russia named after P. Lumumba was signed in 2017.
