“Urgent measures to combat climate change and its consequences”,
On April 18, 2024, at the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure, Labor Law, a scientific seminar was held on the topic “Urgent measures to combat climate change and its consequences”, held within the framework of SDG 17 (Strengthening the means of implementation and intensifying work within the framework of the Global Partnership for sustainable development).
The speaker of the scientific seminar was a first-year master's student, Z. Khangeldina, under the guidance of Doctor of Law, Professor Suleimenova S.Zh.
The main issues of discussion were topics related to the legal application of measures taken to combat the costs of weather conditions.
The seminar participants paid special attention to analyzing the impact of climate change on the flood situation in the country. The history and consequences of flood natural disasters in the regions were studied, an analysis of the current state was carried out, as well as forecasting possible situations in this area.
This scientific seminar strongly emphasized important points related to the impact of climate change on flood conditions in Kazakhstan. The results of the discussion, ideas and recommendations expressed at the workshop are intended to become a starting point for the development of specific measures to prevent floods, mitigate their consequences and improve the protection of communities and infrastructure from this natural threat.
