BLIEV NAZARBAI

Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1980), Professor (1985), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1998), Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2003), Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1996). Laureate of the International Khorezmi Prize, 1st degree (1999).

Born on September 15, 1935 in the village of Zharkamys, Baiganinsky district, Aktobe region. In 1957, he graduated with honors from the mathematical department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Kazakh State University named S.M.Kirov and received an offer to go to Moscow to enter graduate school at the V.A.Steklov Mathematical Institute (MIAS) of the USSR, but chose the Guryev Pedagogical Institute.

In 1960, he entered graduate school at the MIAS of the USSR.

N.Bliev began studying the behavior of solutions to elliptic systems of differential equations in the vicinity of singular points of the coefficients. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of analytical solutions of degenerate elliptic systems of the first order in the vicinity of degeneration points were obtained.

Results related to differential equations and boundary value problems in bounded domains were included in the doctoral dissertation of N.Bliev “Elliptic systems of differential equations of the first order on the plane in fractional spaces and boundary value problems”, successfully defended at the MIAS of the USSR in 1980.

More detailed functional properties of GAF are presented in the monograph by N.Bliev “Generalized analytical functions in fractional spaces” (1985). The results for unbounded areas are contained in the monograph published in English “Generalized Analytic Functions in Fractional Spaces”, USA, Addison Wesley Longman inc., 1997.

Since 1963, the scientific activity of N.Bliev is associated with the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, where he goes through all stages of professional growth from junior researcher to director of the institute (1988). Since 2000 – Honorary Director, Chief Researcher of the Institute of Mathematics.

Since 1964, N.Bliev has not interrupted his teaching career at his native KazNU, and since September 2000 he switched entirely to teaching work – he headed the department of functional analysis and probability theory until 2005.
