KazNU and UrFU international scientific cooperation

Recently an important event for the partner universities (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Ural Federal University named after the first President B.N. Yeltsin) took place - an international scientific seminar "Language, Personality, Culture in the Age of Digitalization". 

 

The event was organized within the framework of the International Congress of the Urals State Institute of UrFU. For two days the seminar participants discussed important aspects of digital humanities education, such as the impact of artificial intelligence on personality and the use of new technologies in education. Scholars discussed both positive and negative sides of digitalization, emphasizing the importance of balance between digital and analog teaching methods.

Nursulu Zhamalbekovna Shaimerdenova, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, Executive Director of the Research Institute of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, delivered a speech at the opening of the seminar. Her report was devoted to the system of multicultural education in Kazakhstan, which aroused great interest of the audience. Anna Mikhailovna Plotnikova, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Director of the Department of Philology of the UFU. Anna Mikhailovna spoke about dynamic processes in the language of the digital society. Yulia Vladimirovna Zapariy, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Contemporary and Modern History, Head of the Department of Organization of Scientific and Innovative Activities, presented a report on "The UN and International Digital Policy".

Amanzholova Jemma Bolatovna Amanzholova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor of the Department of General Educational Disciplines of Astana IT University (Astana) presented a report on "Digital Linguistics in Kazakhstan: Origins and Perspectives".

The program of the visit to the UFU included meeting the teachers of the Linguistics Department and the Philology Faculty, as well as the staff of the Laboratory of Archaeographic Research, which was established at the UFU to organize and conduct archaeographic expeditions and study monuments of the Cyrillic script. During the meeting with Elvira Ewaldovna Symanyuk, Director of the Ural Institute of Humanities, the importance of further international cooperation in solving modern challenges was emphasized and the key areas of interaction between the two universities were identified. In addition, the parties discussed the possibilities of joint research projects.

The seminar continued in an online format. This seminar was an important step in the exchange of knowledge and experience between scholars from different fields (historians, philologists, sociologists and philosophers).
