International conference on SDG 4 – Quality Education
On March 15, 2024, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the implementation of the 4th Sustainable Development Goal - “Quality education: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” – the V International Scientific and Methodological Conference “Life-long learning paradigm in the system of Kazakhstani education for sustainable development: practice and perspectives" was held by the Foreign Languages Department of the Philological Faculty and was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
More than 250 scientists – researchers, young scholars, PhD candidates, and master’s students took part in the conference. The invited keystone speakers of the plenary session were Anatoly Berdichevsky, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of European Projects, Vienna, Austria; Christopher Korten, Ph.D., Professor, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland; Paula Orzechowska, Professor, Department of English language, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland; and Kurshat Cesur, Associate Professor, Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Turkey.
This conference covered a wide range of scientific issues and included the work of three sessions - 1. Physical and technical sciences and technologies; 2. Natural sciences; 3. Social sciences and humanities; thus, it provided an opportunity for scientists to exchange opinions and became a floor for discussing the research results of young scientists. The conference was organized in a mixed format – offline in hall 408 of the Library of Al-Farabi KazNU and online by means of the ZOOM platform for both – the participants of plenary session and the work of conference sessions. In the flow of the sessions work, reports were presented on topical issues with potential perspectives for further development, for instance, such as – the potential of artificial intelligence in business processes, the various topical problems in translation studies, the role of media in education, the effective strategies for the development of life-long learning, the use of various innovative technologies in educational process.
A conference is always a great event! Attending conferences is particularly beneficial for Masters students, PhD students and young researchers in terms of developing presentation skills, and conferences are a fabulous opportunity to share ideas, meet people and build relationships with like-minded individuals.
