A tribute was paid to the medieval Muslim civilization at Al-Azhar University in Egypt
Within the framework of the item "Partnership for sustainable Development" of the project "Sustainable Development Goals", Khavan Aydingul, Head of the Arabic Studies Department of the Middle East and South Asia Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, took part in a scientific seminar organized by the Faculty of Sharia and Law of Al-Azhar University, located in Cairo, Egypt.
During the scientific seminar "Medieval Arab-Muslim Civilization" (72 hours), the delegation representing the al-Farabi Kazakh National University presented a report on the scientific heritage of Abu Nasr al-Farabi (870-950), a native of ancient Kazakh lands, who made an invaluable contribution to the medieval Arab-Muslim civilization.
In addition, the delegation attended a special reception of the former Vice-rector, now Honorary Professor of Al-Azhar University, member of the Council of Scientists Dr. Muhammad Al-Amir and Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law Dr. Ato as-Synbati, and presented him with a special award on behalf of Kara Shanyrak KazNU, which celebrates its 90th anniversary.
In turn, the leadership of Al-Azhar University presented a number of valuable books to the faculty of Al-Farabi University (KazNU) who participated in the seminar.
