KazNU opens branch office in Russia

A branch of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University  will be opened in Omsk, Russia.  This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky during a meeting with Kazakh colleagues.

It should be noted that at the last Fourth meeting of the Subcommission on cooperation in the field of education and science of the Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation it was decided to create a joint working group to develop a "Roadmap for opening a branch of KazNU named after Al-Farabi in the Russian Federation".

In order to implement the protocol decision of the Subcommission of the NPJSC company "KazNU named after Al-Farabi", the project of the roadmap was developed.

In connection with the opening of the branch of Al-Farabi KazNU in the city of Omsk, on the basis of the comparative analysis of educational programs of both universities, the list of educational programs for the future branch was proposed.

According to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, the opening of a branch of a leading Kazakh university in the Russian Federation will contribute to the development of further cooperation and the development of scientific and educational potential of both countries within the framework of Eurasian integration. The Minister also noted that the material and technical base for the training of personnel of scientific and technical profile, as well as the human resource potential of the teaching staff are important points.

It is necessary to solve the issue of allocation of state educational grants for enrolment of students in the educational programs of the branch of KazNU named after Al-Farabi.
