World Book and Copyright Day is a holiday that aims to strengthen the love of books and reading. The date was announced at the 28th session of UNESCO on November 15, 1995 with the aim of educating and developing cultural traditions, as well as taking into account that books are the most important means of disseminating knowledge and the most reliable way to preserve it. Every year on April 23, this holiday is celebrated all over the world. It emphasizes the importance of books as a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and cultures. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the date in the light of the Sustainable Development Goals. Through reading, high-quality education is achieved, in turn, high-quality education is a bridge to establishing and strengthening peace. Almost all areas of the SDGs are closely related to the process of comprehending the accumulated knowledge of mankind and the development of new concepts of education.

Teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners visited libraries with students, which are located in the buildings of the Faculty of Pre-University Education and the Faculty of International Relations. During the campaign, the mentors talked about the significance of this date, reminded the audience of the importance of reading classical literature and the works of our contemporaries.
