On April 22, 2024, the lecturers of of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, Zhusanbaeva A.T. and Khairusheva E.E. together with the 1st year students majoring in “Ecology” held the event within the framework of SDG-16: “Peace, justice and strong institutions”. The event on the topic “Justice and strong institutions in Kazakhstan” was held in a round table format.
During the round table discussion, the questions about the state of justice and strong institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed. Th violence in the society of Kazakhstan affects the development of the country's economy, the health and well-being of children and their development. Human rights are violated, people cannot receive protection; the rate of crimes increases.
Achieving the goals requires strong and participatory public institutions that can provide quality education and health care, fair economic policies, and inclusive environmental protection.
Sustainable Development Goal 16 is not just an abstract number on a list of global goals. This is the fundamental core that holds our society, our security and our future on our shoulders. Peacefulness is an active desire for peace, cooperation, understanding and tolerance. Peacefulness begins with each of us. We can manifest it in everyday life, in communication with neighbors, colleagues, and friends. We can choose kindness, even if it seems small.
