Excursion of the 3rd year students of the Department of «Business –technology» into the world of warehouse logistics: practical experience and new knowledge

On April 24, 2024, 3rd year students of the specialty 6B11301-Logistics (by industry) of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Higher School of Economics and Business, Department of «Business – technology», went on an excursion to the «DAMU Logistics» company in order to get a practical acquaintance with work in the field of warehouse logistics. 

«DAMU Logistics» is one of the leading logistics service operators in the Central Asian region. The total area of theindustrial and logistics zone is 210 hectares.

During the tour, the students got acquainted with the fullrange of the company's services, modern methods of managinglogistics processes and innovative technologies used to ensuresafety and timely delivery of goods in the warehouse.

This excursion has become a valuable addition to thetheoretical knowledge of the students obtained within theframework of the curriculum. It allowed students to getacquainted with the practical implementation of logisticsconcepts, acquire skills in solving real logistics problems andexpand their horizons in the field of logistics and warehouselogistics.

This event is an example of successful cooperation betweenthe university and the business community. Such partnerships contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals, including the goal of «Quality education» set by the United Nations. 

Students' immersion in the real business environment andacquaintance with leading companies in the field of logistics notonly expand their professional skills, but also contribute to theformation of a stable and flexible practical base for futurespecialists. Such initiatives provide students with theopportunity to gain practical work experience in their field andapply theoretical knowledge in practice, which ultimatelycontributes to improving the quality of education and trainingqualified personnel who meet the needs of the modern labormarket.
