International scientific and practical conference "National identity in modern Kazakhstan: historical roots and current trends"

On April 25, 2024, the Department of Pre-university Training of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized an international scientific and practical seminar "national identity in modern Kazakhstan: historical roots and modern trends" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the historian, Professor Toregali Karataev Karataevich.

Event held within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: quality education)
Purpose: to discuss research on national identity in modern Kazakhstan with special emphasis on the historical roots and modern trends of the nation.

The event brought together well-known Kazakhstani and foreign scientists, university faculty, doctoral students, undergraduates. Member-Vice-rector of the Department for Social Development of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Suatai Sabit Kurmanzhanovich made a welcoming speech. The plenary session reported on the contribution of Karataev Toregali Karataevich to the history of Kazakhstan. The conference discussed the factors influencing the formation of national identity in Kazakh society, and possible ways to strengthen national identity in the context of global changes and barriers.
