In today's world, where technological innovations reshape the banking sector, developers play a crucial role in ensuring its competitiveness and success. But what are the peculiarities and challenges faced by developers working in the banking industry? How do you manage IT projects in a bank, balancing innovation with security? These and other questions were addressed by our guest speaker, Nail Rahmatullin, Head of IT at "Otbas Bank", during a guest lecture organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.

During the meeting hosted by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Nail Rahmatullin shared his wealth of experience in development and IT project management in the banking sector. He highlighted several key aspects that are vital for developers in banking:

  1. Data Security and Confidentiality: Banks deal with sensitive customer information, making data security a top priority for developers. Nail emphasized the need for strict security standards and continuous vulnerability monitoring.

  2. Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: The banking sector is subject to stringent regulatory standards, such as requirements for personal data protection or financial reporting. Developers must be aware of these requirements and ensure compliance in all IT projects.

  3. Flexibility and Innovation: Despite rigid rules and standards, banking IT projects should also be flexible and open to innovation. Nail stressed the importance of striking a balance between ensuring security and implementing new technologies to enhance the customer experience.

  4. Collaboration and Communication: Working in a bank often entails collaboration with various departments and stakeholders. Effective communication and teamwork play a crucial role in project success.
