Meeting of heads of tourism organizations and companies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (as part of the KITF 2024 exhibition) on the basis of al-Farabi KazNU

On April 25, as part of the promotion of the Sustainable Development Program in the direction of “Partnership for Sustainable Development” (SDG №17), a ceremonial meeting of representatives of tourism organizations of neighboring countries of Kazakhstan was held in the conference hall of the Kazakh-Chinese technology laboratory for remote sensing at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences - KTA (Kazakhstan Tourist Association) and Kyrgyzstan - KATO (Kyrgyz Association of Tourist Organizations). The dean of the faculty, Aktymbaeva A.S., made a welcoming speech on behalf of the faculty and the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism. As part of this meeting, reports were presented by the director of the Kazakhstan Tourist Association - R.R. Shaikenova, and the executive director of the Kyrgyz Association of Tourist Organizations - N. Saparov.

During this meeting, various issues were discussed, as well as prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and the hospitality industry for the coming tourist season. General aspects of the development of the tourism industry of the two countries were touched upon, including the scientific component, where a special role was noted by the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, which is one of the leading scientific centers for the study and training of qualified personnel for the country's tourism industry. The meeting of delegates was held at a fairly high level, interesting and topical issues were discussed, and in general, the university’s high contribution to the organization of this event was noted.
