The XVI Republican subject Olympiad in pedagogy and psychology was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Nowadays, the new requirements are being set for the training system of future teachers and psychologists in higher educational institutions of thecountry. In August 2023, the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, emphasized that the most important generation in the process of forming the new quality of the nation is the pedagogical personnel, and committed to fully equip the education sector with qualified specialists. In his speech, the head of state noted that the majority of programs related to pedagogical specialties in higher educational institutions are based on old methods that do not take into account modern requirements, and therefore he also stressed the issue of introducing modern approaches and new technologies. In this regard, organization of various levels of meetings and Olympic competitions among students of Republican higher educational institutions is one of the urgent issues.

On April 29, 2024, the XVI Republican student subject Olympiad in pedagogy and psychology was organized and held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. At the opening ceremony of the Olympiad, the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, associate professor - Meirbaev Bekzhan Berikbayuly made a special speech, introduced the participating teams and judges, and wished them success.

At the Olympiad, which consisted of three special rounds, 16 teams from the Republic showed their training and skills at a high level.

As a result, having scored the highest points, the 1st place was taken by the Eurasian National University named after Lev Gumilyov, 2nd place by the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi and Kyzylorda State University named after Korkyt Ata, and 3rd place was taken by the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Akhmed Yassawi, Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Shakhmardan Yessenov and West Kazakhstan University named after Makhambet Utemisov.
