The Republican Research Competition 2024 has ended at the Faculty of Oriental Studies

On May 6, 2024, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a meeting of the commission of the competition of scientific research works of students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the educational program “6B02207 - Oriental Studies”. The competition is held on an annual basis among undergraduate students to reveal scientific potential, stimulate research and educational activities, select and support the most talented and gifted students.

This year, 16 applicants from 4 Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the competition: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, ENU named after. L.N. Gumilyov, Kazakh University of International Relations and Languages named after Abylaikhan and Aktobe Regional University named after. K. Zhubanov.

The competition committee is chaired by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Deputy General Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R.B. Suleimenov Duysen G.M., and members of the commission, PhD, acting Associate Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies at Al-Farabi KazNU Madiev D.A., Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Far East of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Balakaeva L.T., PhD, Head of the Department of Turksoy Al-Farabi KazNU Gabdullin K.T., Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies of Kazakh University of International Relations and Languages named after Abylaikhan Yeserkepova Zh.O., PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Middle East and South Asia, al-Farabi Kazakh National University Tyulegenov K.M. the works were assessed according to the criteria of relevance, novelty of the research topic, disclosure and validity of the topic.

As the members of the commission note, the participants did a lot of work, conducted independent research, revealed topics and substantiated their relevance. And by decision of the competition commission, it was decided to award first place to a 3rd year student of ENU named after. L.N. Gumilyov Balgozhina A., under the guidance of Candidate of Historical Sciences, acting professor of the Department of Oriental Studies of L.N. Gumilev ENU Azmukhanova A.M.
