A tribute is paid to the medieval civilisation of Egypt
Within the framework of the “Partnership for Sustainable Development” section of the Sustainable Development Goals project, the Head of the Arabic Studies Department at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Khavan Aydyngul, participated in a scientific seminar organized by the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Azhar University, located in Cairo, Egypt.
During the 72-hour scientific seminar “Medieval Arab-Muslim Civilization”, the delegation representing Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) presented a report on the scientific heritage of Abu Nasr al-Farabi (870–950), a native of the ancient Kazakh lands, who made an invaluable contribution to medieval Arab-Muslim civilization. In addition, the delegation attended a special reception with the former vice-rector, now honorary professor of Al-Azhar University and member of the Council of Scholars, Dr. Muhammad Al-Amir, and the dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Dr. Ato as-Synbati, and presented him with a special award on behalf of the kara shanyrak of KazNU, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary.
In turn, the administration of Al-Azhar University presented a number of valuable books to the teaching staff of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) who participated in the seminar.
