On 17.05.2024, the head of the Department of «Customs, Finance and environmental law» of the Faculty of Law, doctor of law, professor Kuanalieva G. A., associate professor of this department, candidate of law Kuandykov K. Zh.and senior lecturer Zhapakov S. M. took part in an event to familiarize students with the work of the customs post at the customs post "Zhetysu", located on the territory of the International Airport in Almaty.
During the event, the students were presented with new technical means of customs control installed to detect illegal import and export of drugs, smuggled goods, weapons and currency, including the work of the Rapiscan and Yantar inspection apparatus, which was installed at the station for the first time this year.
In addition, the course of the work of the customs control and customs clearance station, the specifics of the corridor created specifically for airports of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in connection with the creation of a single customs space for the airport station for the first time this year, as well as the differences in customs control and baggage and hand luggage of air passengers in accordance with customs legislation were explained. In addition, students were shown how the search for narcotic and Psychotropic Substances is carried out with the help of service dogs.
The customs post "Zhetysu" is the only structural unit of the Department of State Revenue of Almaty, which carries out measures to identify and prevent the facts of illegal import, export and transit of goods across the customs border of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The passenger section of the customs post operates four shifts, that is, around the clock.
