Current status of international co-operation of KazNU
New experiences represent a journey inward through engagement with the external world. Thus, students’ pursuit of education abroad is motivated not only by the desire to enhance professional skills but also by the opportunity to immerse themselves in a foreign culture.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) collaborates with approximately 700 universities worldwide, offering students a wide range of opportunities through its academic mobility program. During the first semester of the 2023–2024 academic year, more than 500 students from various faculties studied or undertook internships abroad. According to statistics, the most popular regions are Europe, the CIS, and Asia, which include many well-known universities.

University of Tsukuba (Japan) – Ranked among the top 10 Japanese universities, it offers programs for students in various technical fields. Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, one of Japan’s most traditional regions, the university’s proximity to Tokyo allows students to visit numerous cultural sites. In addition to a variety of festivals, there are student clubs catering to diverse interests. The Japanese Language and Cultural Studies Program (JLCSP) aims to fully integrate students into Japanese society during their studies, including language and cultural studies for undergraduate students.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN, Moscow) – Ranked fourth among Russian universities in the QS World University Rankings, RUDN is known as the most multinational university in Russia, attracting students from 160 countries. The university offers a wide range of programs across technical, scientific, medical, economic, and humanitarian fields. Its active international engagement is evidenced by numerous events, festivals, and conferences, providing students with opportunities to showcase their skills and establish connections across various scientific and professional areas.
