Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Rector of Dostoevsky Omsk State University Sergey Zamyatin within the framework of his working trip to the Russian Federation.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of further increasing scientific and educational cooperation between the two universities. In particular, the leaders considered the issues of opening a branch of KazNU on the basis of Omsk State University named after F. M. Dostoevsky. F. M. Dostoevsky Omsk State University.
The leadership of OmSU expressed gratitude for the visit to the university and noted that the working visit of the rector of KazNU will serve to strengthen and deepen friendship and cooperation between the countries.
“Our partnership relations are at a very good level. I hope that your visit will create conditions for even more fruitful cooperation. We are interested to have close relations with your university in the field of education and science,” said Sergey Zamyatin.
In turn, Zhanseit Tuimebaev informed Sergey Zamyatin about the existing experience of scientific and educational interaction of KazNU with universities, institutes, organizations of the Russian Federation in the field of science and higher education.
“With the scientific and academic community of the Russian Federation and KazNU long-standing and strong ties. Thus, only for the period from 2019 to 2023, 9 scientific projects were realized. Currently there are 180 cooperation agreements with 140 with leading universities, institutes, organizations of the Russian Federation. KazNU implements 31 educational programs of double degree together with universities of the Russian Federation. At the moment 11 students from Russia are studying at Al-Farabi KazNU. In 2022-24, 33 professors from Russian universities were invited to our university,” - said Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
At the end of the meeting, the parties outlined a concrete plan for the future development of scientific and educational partnership. In addition, the heads of the two universities agreed to provide the necessary assistance in organizing joint events, to continue close cooperation in the implementation of scientific projects and to focus on increasing academic mobility.
