KazNU climbed to 163rd place in the world ranking

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has entered the top 200 universities in the world in the international ranking QS World University Rankings 2025 (QS WUR). This year, the leading university of the country has risen by 67 positions on 9 indicators, from 230 to 163 places.

 

KazNU is the first and only university to be included in the top 200 universities of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Compared to last year, the institution has advanced in terms of academic reputation and demand for graduates among employers. At the same time, the university achieved high results in terms of faculty/student ratio, number of students, international research network, sustainable development indicators.

It should be noted that last academic year KazNU carried out a comprehensive structural modernization, opened joint scientific international laboratories. Experimental educational programs, accredited at the international level, developed in accordance with high standards. Branches of foreign universities have also opened and started their work on the basis of the educational institution.

Implementing all directions of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), KazNU carried out systematic work to improve the quality of educational programs, activation of innovative research and new technologies. Steps have also been taken in the sphere of expanding cooperation with world universities, academic mobility, development of social partnership.

In the new academic year 10 thousand students were admitted, successful work on internationalization of educational process and improvement of quality of educational programs was carried out.

Traditional participation of KazNU in the international rating QS WUR gives wide opportunities to comprehensively evaluate the potential of the educational institution.     At the same time it opens opportunities for further development and improvement of activity, new searches and stimuli. 

It should be noted that this year 21 higher education institutions of Kazakhstan entered the international rating QS World University Rankings 2025 (QS WUR). Five Kazakhstani universities improved their positions, and four universities retained their positions.
