The results of the competition for grant funding of the project "Zhas galym" for 2024-2026, which has become an important stage in the development of scientific potential of young researchers in Kazakhstan, have been summarised. This year 746 applications were submitted, from which 225 projects reflecting topical issues were selected. A special joy and pride is that among the winners of the competition is a young scientist, PhD doctor, senior lecturer at the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Tursumbayeva Madina Orazgazievna.
Madina Orazgazievna is a graduate of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management of Al-Farabi KazNU, Master of Environmental Sciences at Iowa State University (USA) and recently Madina successfully defended her PhD thesis on the speciality "8D050204 - Meteorology". Her research focuses on the most important aspects of modelling meteorological and chemical processes, especially in the context of large cities in Kazakhstan, which makes her work not only relevant but also in demand in the scientific community.
In 2023 Madina Tursumbayeva was recognised as the best young scientist of KazNU and included in the list of the most talented young scientists of the university. The staff of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, as well as the entire faculty heartily congratulate Madina with the deserved victory and express confidence in her future creative successes and scientific achievements.
