An advanced training course for the older generation has started as part of the “Silver University” program

At the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on the basis of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, an advanced training course for the older generation has started as part of the “Silver University” program.

The University of the Third Age is an international movement that provides the older generation with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in various areas. The Silver University course program includes a campus tour, 10 lectures and practical classes on various topics: artificial intelligence, human ecology, climate change, action algorithms during emergencies, etc.

This course was attended by 20 students, for whom a campus tour was organized, after which the Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences A.S. Aktymbayeva spoke about the activities of the faculty and the Scientific Center “Sustainable Development and Environmental Management”, the Kazakh-Chinese Laboratory “Remote Sensing Technology and Applications”.

This initiative contributes to achieving SDG 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
