KazNU hosts the competition of robotics and innovative technologies "Almaty Tech Cup X"
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is hosting the 10th anniversary championship on robotics and innovative technologies "Almaty Tech Cup X", timed to coincide with the Cup of the Akim of Almaty.
The competition, which united educated youth, was organised by the Almaty City Akimat, Almaty City Education Department, USTEM Foundation and KazNU.
The project provides an opportunity to share experience in robotics and innovative technologies, create new innovative projects, and involve young people in science.
At the opening ceremony of the international competition with a welcoming speech was made by the Deputy Chairman of the Board - First Vice-Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Yerkin Duisenov, who said: "We are pleased that today's international competition is organised on the campus of KazNU. We are ready to demonstrate any scientific achievements, jointly discuss new projects. Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev identified the improvement of IT-technologies in the educational institution as one of the priority directions of the university development.
Teachers of universities, student youth, representatives of large companies and scientific organisations gather on one platform, share experience, exchange opinions.
Today, the university has educational programmes at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels, based on a deep mastery of this area.I am confident that KazNU, as a leading university in the field of science and education, opens new opportunities for robotics and innovative technologies in the country and builds up the potential in this direction".
In turn, the director of the Department of Science and Innovation Activity of Al-Farabi KazNU Margulan Ibraimov noted that today the university is taking steps to train qualified specialists in the field of robotics, innovation, engineering and information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and big data processing.
In addition, Kuanysh Alipbaev, Director of the Institute of Communications and Space Engineering, and Gulnur Karimkazhi, Director of the Centre for Identification and Support of Gifted Children and Talented Youth "Almaty Daryny" of the Almaty City Education Department, made welcoming speeches and wished success to the youth.
On the second day, a STEM conference for teachers will be organised, where students and pupils presented an exhibition of their research projects.
The intellectual project is held in four main areas: robotics, artificial intelligence, drones and rockets.
The national stage of the First Global Challenge World Olympiad also takes place within the framework of the anniversary championship. About 40 teams selected from Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates are taking part in it.
The winners will receive a ticket to the Greek championship in September, which will be attended by the best teams from 191 countries.
