On September 15, 2024, the ZhasTur club of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management organized a weekend hiking trip to Gorelnik Waterfall in the Maloalmatinsky Gorge.
52 students of the Department took part in the weekend hike under the guidance of teachers Beisakhmet A.A., Mominov S.A., Kaliyeva A.B., Adilbay B.S. During the route, first-year students got acquainted with information about the Medeu high-mountain skating rink, the students also climbed the steps of the Medeu Dam, which is the hallmark and landmark of the city.
The organization of the weekend hike to Gorelnik Waterfall is associated with several sustainable development goals, namely: "Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being" - ensuring a healthy lifestyle and improving the well-being of people of all ages; "Goal 15: Life on Land" - protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems and sustainably use them.
