Introducing first-year students to the rules of dormitory living
On September 23, 2024, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Doszhan N.S. and Senior Curator of the Faculty Abenov B.K. held an information meeting in Students' House №6 and acquainted the 1st year students with the Rules of Conduct for Dormitory Residents, the Regulations on Students and the Code of Honor of Students; ; explained and obliged to strictly comply with them. During the meeting, students were instructed to comply with generally accepted rules of conduct in public places. Students were reminded of the need to keep their rooms clean, return to the student house at the appointed time and pay for accommodation on time. According to the rules, smoking, loud noise and throwing garbage in inappropriate places are prohibited on campus. The students received complete answers to their questions related to the economy and the educational process, and expressed gratitude for the information received. During the meeting, the participants asked that such meetings be repeated on a regular basis.
This meeting represents an important step in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly "Good Health and Well-being" (SDG 3) and "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions" (SDG 16). Clarifying the dormitory rules and principles of conduct contributes to the formation of healthy habits and the creation of a favorable and safe environment for students, which is directly related to supporting their physical and mental well-being. Furthermore, familiarizing students with the rules of conduct and the Code of Honor helps cultivate respect for laws and norms, fosters a sense of responsibility, and contributes to building fair and transparent relationships within the student community. Therefore, such meetings not only help establish a disciplined environment but also play a role in nurturing active, conscientious citizens ready to contribute to the sustainable development of society.
