Law School Alumni Meeting: 45 years later
Al-Farabi KazNU hosted a meeting of graduates of the Faculty of Law dedicated to the 45th anniversary of graduation.
As part of the event, the graduates visited the Farabi HUB Centre, the Research Centre for Medicinal Plants, the Kazakhstan-China Joint International Laboratory ‘Remote Sensing and Application Technology’, the Situational Control Centre and the Museum. The 1979 graduates were welcomed by Altay Kazmagambetov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of KazNU. He told about achievements and directions of KazNU work.
This year KazNU in the QS WUR rating has advanced by 67 positions and rose from 230th place to 163rd place, became a leader among Kazakhstani and Central Asian universities, and entered the Top 200 best universities in the world. These results demonstrate the high competitiveness of the university and determine its further development. ‘Since you graduated from the university, there have been many changes, and you can see how our alma mater has been transformed. KazNU has received the status of a research university and produces the best staff’, - said Vice-Rector A. Kazmagambetov.
Ualikhan Akhatov, Dean of the Faculty of Law, also made a welcoming speech at the official meeting with the graduates. In turn, the graduates spoke about their professional path and shared their experience with the younger generation of lawyers. ‘This meeting is not just an opportunity to meet with classmates, but also a tribute to our faculty, which has become an important part of life for us,’ said Nagashybai Atshabarov Lawyer-Lawyer, Major General of KNB.
After the meeting, a tour of the Law School classrooms was organised for the 1979 graduates.
