Master class by simultaneous interpreter and lecturer of our faculty Bekova Zhansaya Kaldybekovna on the topic "Introduction to Diplomatic Translation"

Within the framework of SDG 4 "Quality Education", the Academic Regional Resource Center for Information about the UN at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi KazNU and the Chair of Diplomatic Translation, organized a master class by a simultaneous interpreter and lecturer of our faculty, Bekova Zhansaya Kaldybekovna, on the topic "Introduction to Diplomatic Translation".

The event was held on September 30, on International Translators’ Day and was attended by 3rd and 4th year students of the specialty "Translation Studies in the Field of International and Legal Relations", students majoring “International relations” from the faculty and Turan University. In her speech Bekova Zh.K. covered the issues of the theory and practice of simultaneous interpreting, shared examples from her professional experience. Also, the participants of the master class completed practical tasks to consolidate the knowledge and skills they had acquired.

The master class contributed to the formation of a general idea of ​​the features of intercultural dialogue and its role in strengthening respect for cultural and linguistic diversity, which are important factors in achieving social cohesion and justice.
