Students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies abroad showed high activity in the referendum on nuclear power plants

On October 6, 2024, our country held a referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant — the first in the country and in the whole of Central Asia. Along with compatriots, students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies who study at universities abroad also voted in this referendum, thus showing their civic position. Among those who voted were students of the South Central University of Nationalities (PRC) Sarsenbayeva Bekzada, Naregeeva Adelia, Northwestern University of Political Science and Law (PRC) Maksutbekova Balym, Aliyeva Ainel, Jinin Polytechnic Institute (PRC) Nurlankyzy Nursaya, Vysotsky Oleg, Ergaliev Isa, Junis Danial, Xi'an University of Transport (PRC) Baybatyrova Ulzhan, Tagatova Aruzhan, Kambar Ayaulym Akbergenkyzy, etc. Student of the Tokyo University of Foreign Languages (Japan) Bekbolat Miras, students of Sofia University (Japan) Kapenova Daria, Alimkyzy Guldana, Burumbayev Temirlan, Sagimbekov Aben also showed their civic activity. Earlier, the State Adviser of Kazakhstan Yerlan Karin noted that this referendum is very important from the point of view of determining the prospects of our country. He also noted that in the CIS and Central Asia, Kazakhstan is the first and only country that holds a referendum on such an issue. Also, earlier, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko said that 74 precinct commissions on this referendum have been formed at foreign institutions in 59 foreign countries. At these sites, 13,307 of our compatriots had the opportunity to vote on the referendum on nuclear power plants.
