Gender Equality and Empowerment
On October 4, 2024, the 2nd-year adviser of the Foreign Philology specialty, G.A. Tairova, together with 2nd-year students of the Foreign Philology specialty, held an event on SDG #5: Gender Equality and Empowerment. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues related to gender inequality, as well as the need to implement measures to address them. Information materials were prepared, including statistics on gender equality issues around the world. The event began with the presentation of the topic of the meeting and the importance of gender equality in modern society. Students familiarized themselves with important data on gender inequality, including information on wage gaps, access to education. Participants were divided into small groups in which they discussed specific issues related to gender stereotypes and other issues, discussed what measures need to be taken to improve the situation of women and men in various spheres of life. The event ended with a brief summing up. The students emphasized that gender equality is not only a question of rights, but also an important aspect of sustainable development of society.
