Guest lecture was held on the topic “Digital transformation of the banking sector”

On October 7, 2024 at 13:00 hours, within the framework of SDG 8 “Decent work and economic growth” with the participation of the teaching staff of the Department of Finance and Accounting, Candidate of Economic Sciences Assilova A. S. and 4th year students of the specialty “Finance” was a guest lecture was held on the topic “Digital transformation of the banking sector”.

Guest speaker – specialist of the People's Bank of Kazakhstan, Big Data scientist Tanat Arysbekov told students about the digitalization of modern banking services, data processing and analysis, as well as the use of financial technologies. The lecture aroused interest among the students. During the lecture, students asked Mr. Arysbekov Tanat questions: “What is the significance of transferring banking services to digital format in the financial sector?”; “How do you assess the level of digital information security today?”  etc.

Mr. Arysbekov Tanat noted that the digitalization process is currently affecting a number of services in the field of banking, reduces operating costs, increases the speed of customer service, and provides round-the-clock access to services; that digital transformation will expand financial inclusion and provide people with access to banking services in remote areas; that security levels have improved significantly, but the risk of cyber attacks and data leaks is also increasing;  that innovations such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and Big Data influence the automation of banking services and the optimization of risk management.

Overall, the lecture was informative and useful for the students.
